About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coordinate the company side of the payroll process
  • Serve as the primary operational link between internal teams and the third-party payroll provider
  • Support the full payroll cycle, including preparation, validation, processing coordination, payment execution, reconciliation, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Maintain and coordinate payroll-related employee and worker information
  • Collect and validate time, attendance, pay changes, bonuses, reimbursements, deductions, and payroll adjustments
  • Follow up with supervisors and internal teams to ensure payroll information is complete and approved
  • Submit accurate and authorized payroll information within established deadlines
  • Coordinate with the third-party payroll provider throughout each payroll cycle
  • Review preliminary payroll reports for errors, missing workers, unusual amounts, and other discrepancies
  • Coordinate corrections and prepare payroll for management approval
  • Monitor payroll execution and confirm approved payroll has been processed
  • Review and coordinate resolution of failed, rejected, delayed, or incorrect payments
  • Reconcile completed payroll against approved source information and provider reports
  • Maintain payroll reports, approvals, reconciliation records, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate payroll-related employee and worker inquiries
  • Assist with payroll accounting, reporting, documentation, and process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have lived or worked in the United States
  • Must have previously participated in the InterExchange Work Program with the United States
  • Experience in accounting support, payroll coordination, finance administration, data processing, or a related role
  • Basic accounting and data-encoding skills
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to review data and identify missing, inconsistent, or unusual information
  • Good organizational, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage recurring deadlines and follow up on outstanding requirements
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate professionally with employees, managers, internal departments, and external service providers
  • Ability to handle confidential payroll, compensation, banking, and employee information responsibly
  • Ability to work independently in a structured remote environment
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft 365/Office applications, spreadsheets, online collaboration tools, and payroll, timekeeping, or accounting systems
  • Preferred: Educational background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Preferred: Previous experience with payroll, timekeeping, accounting, or financial systems
  • Preferred: Experience coordinating with a third-party payroll provider
  • Preferred: Experience supporting U.S.-based operations or a distributed workforce
  • Preferred: Familiarity with payroll reconciliation, payroll reports, and financial documentation
  • Preferred: Experience working with high-volume employee or worker records
  • Preferred: Experience with payroll platforms; ability to quickly learn new systems is also important
