About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as PrizePicks’ public representative to state legislators, regulators, governors, and attorneys general
- Build coalitions and relationships with third-party stakeholders, peers, competitors, casino operators, tribal gaming communities, and others in the gaming ecosystem
- Lead legislative and regulatory strategy development and engagement across assigned jurisdictions
- Keep internal company stakeholders informed on progress toward company goals
- Collaborate with communications, legal, product, and marketing teams to tell the PrizePicks story and support its user community
- Manage external firms and lobbyists for maximum impact and efficiency
- Attend frequent stakeholder meetings, political organization conferences, and industry and relationship-building events
- Report to the VP of Public Affairs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in policy, government, and/or campaign roles
- Strong grasp of politics, media and communications, the legislative process, and familiarity with technology, consumer apps, and gaming issues
- Ability to distill complex competitive and policy dynamics into short, high-impact, politically attuned messaging for internal and external audiences
- Ability to quickly forge connections and build internal and external relationships
- Aptitude for finding creative ways to secure wins in rapidly changing environments across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to pass key personnel submissions and background checks as part of gaming licenses
- Competitive mindset and passion for ensuring consumers have access to innovative new options
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
