About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead market strategy, forecasting, and commercial optimization activities supporting Prologis’ energy platform
  • Evaluate wholesale and retail power markets
  • Guide underwriting and development of energy solutions for Prologis’ broader real estate platform
  • Manage environmental commodity positions and develop strategies to optimize market exposure and portfolio value
  • Partner with origination, development, finance, legal, policy, execution, and asset management teams
  • Lead analysis of regional and national power market fundamentals, including load growth, commodity prices, transmission constraints, capacity markets, and regulatory developments
  • Develop and maintain market price, utility rate, and revenue forecasts for solar, energy storage, mobility, and speed-to-power opportunities
  • Monitor trends affecting large-load customers, including data centers, and provide market insights for strategic planning
  • Establish valuation methodologies and scenario analyses addressing weather variability, price volatility, basis risk, and regulatory change
  • Provide market assumptions and revenue forecasts for underwriting behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter energy projects
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external market participants to identify opportunities and translate insights into business strategies
  • Lead hedging, trading, and optimization strategies for battery storage and other energy assets participating in wholesale markets such as ERCOT
  • Develop strategies for energy, shape, basis, and ancillary services positions at project and portfolio levels
  • Structure commercial products and transactions to manage risk and enhance portfolio value
  • Coordinate market registration, qualification, and onboarding activities
  • Develop strategies to optimize Prologis’ environmental commodities portfolio
  • Manage short- and long-term environmental commodity positions and execute transactions under risk management and sustainability policies
  • Develop supply, demand, and price forecasts for renewable energy certificates, guarantees of origin, carbon credits, and other environmental commodities
  • Evaluate opportunities in the Low Carbon Fuel Standard and other clean-energy credit markets
  • Lead power supply strategy and pricing analysis for energy and data center development opportunities
  • Source and negotiate wholesale power transactions where Prologis serves as a retail energy provider
  • Oversee retail supply positions under approved commercial, credit, and risk management policies
  • Report to the Vice President, Energy Solutions – Americas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, engineering, energy or environmental science, engineering or similar preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in wholesale electricity markets (CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, MISO), energy trading, corporate procurement, or energy regulatory strategy
  • Deep familiarity with power pools, RTO/ISO structures, risk allocation, and commercial modeling
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Advanced financial and market modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong leadership, staff management, executive communication, and consensus-building capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity
  • Creative, curious mindset and openness to tackling new challenges
  • Collaborative team player with a supportive approach
  • Experience with cQuant or similar energy dispatch modeling platforms preferred
  • Willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools preferred
  • Successful completion of background verification
