About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead construction activities for speculative and build-to-suit data center delivery
Ensure accurate staffing for forecasted construction activity
Provide cost and budget information for investment memos
Lead the technical side of the entitlement process
Optimize designs and contractor bidding
Coach the data center project management team on performance, staffing, and growth
Lead new-build and retrofit data center projects from concept to completion
Uphold design integrity and resolve construction challenges related to design intent
Own development portfolio performance across cost, schedule, quality, and safety
Monitor project milestones and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
Mentor and supervise junior colleagues
Lead innovation and development initiatives
Drive lean construction, general contractor bid negotiations, and design optimization initiatives
Develop and own relationships with general contractors
Partner with procurement on cost-saving measures
Collaborate with local and market deployment teams and regional stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience in a similar role in Real Estate Development (data center focused), Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
Consistent track record in land development or construction management
Proficiency with MS Project, BlueBeam, Google Earth, and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to travel to projects as necessary, approximately 30%
Experience championing projects from acquisition through due diligence, entitlements, and permitting
Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent experience preferred
Additional experience on design and build projects preferred
Willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive problem-solving ability
Self-motivated, able to multitask and prioritize with minimal direction
Hardworking, positive, customer-service-oriented demeanor
