About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor systems and infrastructure, identifying risks, gaps, and modernization opportunities
  • Provide technical requirements and security compliance standards for IT upgrade projects
  • Plan steps to minimize downtime, including non-peak scheduling and backup or failover solutions
  • Lead technical execution of projects involving Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, network infrastructure, and patch automation
  • Support and maintain LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless access points
  • Manage server virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems
  • Implement and monitor patch management using N-able/N-central
  • Maintain patch management policies and ensure devices receive security patches within seven days of release
  • Conduct audits to verify patching-policy compliance
  • Remediate security issues and directives in collaboration with the corporate security team
  • Participate in change control, maintenance scheduling, and contingency planning
  • Standardize and document configurations, procedures, and site-specific nuances
  • Administer M365 groups, identity management, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Provide end-user support, resolve escalations, and maintain uptime
  • Promote and enforce IT best practices at each site while educating users
  • Maintain system diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks
  • Train and mentor Junior IT staff
  • Serve as a technical lead for infrastructure assessments, project execution, security directives, and documentation
  • Travel to different manufacturing sites as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in user support, systems administration, network management, and virtualization
  • Proficiency with Windows Server 2012–2025, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V administration
  • Strong network experience, including switching, routing, and firewalls; SonicWall preferred
  • Hands-on experience with N-able/N-central or similar patch and automation platforms
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable IT service management (ITSM) systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills
  • Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, or Network+/Security+ are preferred
  • Travel up to 25%
