About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with clients to identify and manage risk

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in (Comp Sci, Comp Eng, Networking) or relevant field, or equivalent experience delivering technology or consulting solutions
- 7+ years working in professional services or related fields
- Recent hands-on design, deployment, and/or administration experience in Windows Server and Linux systems administration
- Working familiarity with Unix variants and Mac OS; prior administration experience a plus
- Working familiarity with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and other IaaS providers preferred
- Strong enterprise networking design, deployment, and/or administration experience
- Working familiarity with enterprise-class networking vendors and product lines, including Cisco, Cisco Meraki, HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Extreme, and Brocade, strongly preferred
- Working familiarity with enterprise-class network security appliance vendors and product lines, including Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, and Fortinet, strongly preferred
- Working familiarity with SMB/prosumer vendors such as Ubiquiti/UBNT, SonicWall, and Mikrotik a plus
- Working familiarity with load balancers and VPN appliances/concentrators a plus
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN segmentation, routing and switching, and wireless networking
- Strong familiarity with SMB and entry-level on-premises computing infrastructure technologies
- Working familiarity with server hardware vendors and management tools/platforms, including Dell, HPE, Cisco, and SuperMicro, strongly preferred
- Working familiarity with hypervisor platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Nutanix AHV, strongly preferred
- Strong familiarity with enterprise storage
- Working familiarity with DAS, SAN, and NAS/filer solutions
- Working understanding of iSCSI, CIFS, Fibre Channel, and NFS
- Strong familiarity with on-premises infrastructure management best practices, rack management, power and cooling demand management, and physical security
- Strong familiarity with scripting for administrative, auditing, and operational purposes
- Prior experience writing PowerShell, Python, BASH/other Linux shell scripts strongly preferred
- Prior experience with infrastructure and server/endpoint management toolsets
- Experience with performance and capacity management tools, endpoint management/RMM platforms, patch and vulnerability management tools, and log/event aggregation technologies such as Kafka, SIEMs, and Splunk
- Prior experience with capacity planning, VM/server right-sizing, and performance analysis
- Prior experience owning server, network, and application solution design through deployment
- Prior experience administering Office 365 services
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange or Google G Suite/Workspace a plus
- Experience designing, building, or remediating environments to meet PCI-DSS, CMMC, or NIST 800-53 requirements
- Prior experience translating undocumented systems, applications, and operating procedures into usable documentation is absolutely necessary
- Ability to update or create dependency maps and architecture visualizations is a must
- Prior experience integrating IT systems in post-merger/acquisition environments
- Prior experience with application rationalization and dependency mapping exercises
- Prior experience designing, implementing, or administering backup and replication/continuity solutions
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and other project management methods
- Prior experience translating business requirements into technical configurations/solutions
- Prior experience dealing with third-party hardware/software/service vendors preferred
- Prior experience translating business continuity/disaster recovery requirements into technical solution designs preferred
- Experience establishing business relationships and professional networks, including with senior executives
- Experience pursuing business development opportunities and obtaining new work or clientele
- Ability to communicate issues, risks, and challenges to client personnel, including executives
- Leadership and direct supervisory experience, including performance appraisals, mentoring, coaching, work oversight, cross-team coordination, and motivating teams
- Professional certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or DevOps Engineer Expert strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Ability to collaborate with executives, system/application owners, and stakeholders in group conversations or direct interviews
- Ability to shift rapidly between planning/design and hands-on execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Successful completion of a background check
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States; Protiviti is not registered to hire or employ personnel in West Virginia or Alaska
