About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Security of AI client engagements
- Conduct AI risk assessments
- Perform threat modeling for LLM-integrated applications
- Conduct agentic system security reviews
- Lead red team exercises
- Design AI security governance programs
- Develop and advance Protiviti’s Security of AI service offerings
- Partner with practice leadership to evolve methodology, tooling, and delivery accelerators
- Recruit, mentor, and retain AI security talent
- Coach managers and senior consultants on technical depth, client delivery, and career growth
- Build Protiviti’s external presence through publications, speaking engagements, and industry working groups
- Develop executive client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor across AI security risk assessments, governance, red teaming, secure architecture, and ongoing monitoring
- Work in person at local Protiviti offices and on client sites, with possible local or out-of-state travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years in cybersecurity, with meaningful depth in at least one of: security architecture, AI/ML security, application security, cloud security, or security consulting
- Direct experience with AI security risks including prompt injection, data poisoning, model inversion, supply chain threats in ML pipelines, agentic system access control, or LLM-integrated application security
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF, MITRE ATLAS, EU AI Act, and sector-specific AI risk guidance
- Track record of owning client relationships and managing multi-workstream engagements from kickoff through delivery
- Strong ability to explain AI risk to security engineers, CISOs, and boards
- Experience leading and developing teams of consultants and senior consultants
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 7+ years working in cybersecurity, including at least 3 years in professional services, consulting, or a client-facing advisory role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CISA preferred
- Successful completion of a background check
- Must be eligible for employment in a state where Protiviti is registered to hire or employ personnel; Protiviti is not registered in West Virginia or Alaska
