About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead complex technology consulting engagements and strengthen strategic client relationships
- Manage technology risk and develop practical solutions using analytics, automation, and modern tools
- Provide technical and commercial leadership for the AWS Platform Engineering practice
- Set architectural direction across strategic engagements and guide complex technical decisions
- Address the highest-risk technical challenges across AWS client engagements
- Establish reusable delivery standards, architectures, engineering frameworks, accelerators, and intellectual property
- Develop engineers, architects, Solutions Architects, Senior Cloud Engineers, and Cloud Engineers through mentoring, coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including CIO, CTO, CISO, architecture, infrastructure, and engineering leaders
- Review and influence designs involving AWS infrastructure, networking, security, resilience, migration, modernization, automation, and operating models
- Ensure engagements align with client outcomes, engineering quality standards, security expectations, and sustainable operating models
- Partner with AWS alliance and pre-sales leaders to shape strategic opportunities
- Translate client needs and delivery insights into new service offerings and solution patterns
- Lead or materially contribute to technical solutioning, estimation, executive presentations, proposals, and statements of work
- Maintain accountability for an assigned sales quota and contribute to pipeline development and conversion
- Identify opportunities based on meaningful client needs and support account growth
- Represent the AWS Platform Engineering practice with AWS technical teams, strategic clients, and industry stakeholders
- Improve AWS delivery consistency, quality, and scalability across the practice
- Establish reusable architectures and engineering standards adopted across multiple engagements
- Connect AWS alliance activity, pre-sales solutioning, and successful delivery execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as MIS, IS, or Computer Science
- 9+ years working in professional services or industry
- Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Deep and broad expertise designing, implementing, and governing enterprise AWS environments
- Ability to influence architecture and technology strategy across large or complex organizations
- Experience leading multiple complex cloud engagements or portfolios of technical work
- Strong architecture capability across infrastructure, networking, security, automation, resilience, governance, operations, and migration
- Ability to advise senior executives while retaining credibility with deeply technical engineering teams
- Significant experience shaping and estimating complex cloud transformation engagements
- Ability to identify client needs and translate them into valuable consulting and engineering engagements
- Experience developing technical leaders and raising engineering standards across an organization
- Strong understanding of consulting economics, delivery risk, scope management, and commercial decision making
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or systems integration environments strongly preferred
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock, including agents, knowledge bases, and guardrails
- Experience with AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration services
- API design and integration patterns, including REST and event-driven architectures
- Data architecture for agent knowledge bases ingesting and indexing procurement/logistics data
- Infrastructure as Code using CDK or CloudFormation
- IAM, networking, and VPC design for AWS environments
- Familiarity with ERP integration patterns, including JDE and Oracle FBDI export format
- Ability to translate business processes such as procurement workflows into technical architecture
- Experience leading agentic AI / GenAI builds, not just chatbots
- Ability to work in a hybrid model and travel to local or out-of-state client sites as required
- Successful completion of a background check
