About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide senior technical leadership across strategic and complex AWS client engagements
Establish architecture direction and engineering standards for AWS Platform Engineering
Advise client CIO, CTO, CISO, architecture, infrastructure, and engineering leaders on cloud strategy and major AWS technology decisions
Guide Solutions Architects and Senior Cloud Engineers through complex architecture and delivery challenges
Review and influence designs involving AWS infrastructure, networking, security, resilience, migration, modernization, automation, and operating models
Intervene in high-risk or highly complex delivery situations
Ensure engagements align with client outcomes, engineering quality standards, security expectations, and sustainable operating models
Develop reusable reference architectures, engineering frameworks, accelerators, and intellectual property
Build technical capability through mentoring, coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing
Partner with AWS alliance and pre-sales leaders to shape strategic opportunities
Translate client needs and delivery insights into new service offerings and solution patterns
Contribute to technical solutioning, estimation, executive presentations, proposals, and statements of work
Develop trusted senior-client relationships leading to continued advisory and engineering opportunities
Maintain accountability for an assigned sales quota and contribute to pipeline development and conversion
Identify opportunities based on meaningful client needs
Represent the AWS Platform Engineering practice with AWS technical teams, strategic clients, and industry stakeholders
Lead complex engagements, strengthen strategic client relationships, manage technology risk, and oversee successful project delivery
Identify new business, represent Protiviti in the market, and mentor teams
Establish reusable delivery standards, develop engineers and architects, and connect delivery excellence to account growth

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MIS, IS, Comp Sci., etc.)
9+ years working in professional services or industry
Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty
Deep and broad expertise designing, implementing, and governing enterprise AWS environments
Ability to influence architecture and technology strategy across large or complex organizations
Experience leading multiple complex cloud engagements or portfolios of technical work
Strong architecture capability across infrastructure, networking, security, automation, resilience, governance, operations, and migration
Ability to advise senior executives while retaining credibility with deeply technical engineering teams
Significant experience shaping and estimating complex cloud transformation engagements
Ability to identify client needs and translate them into valuable consulting and engineering engagements
Experience developing technical leaders and raising engineering standards across an organization
Strong understanding of consulting economics, delivery risk, scope management, and commercial decision making
Experience in consulting, professional services, or systems integration environments strongly preferred
Experience with Amazon Bedrock, including agents, knowledge bases, and guardrails
Experience with AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration services
Knowledge of API design and integration patterns, including REST and event-driven patterns
Data architecture experience, including agent knowledge base ingestion and indexing of procurement/logistics data
Infrastructure as Code experience with CDK or CloudFormation
IAM, networking, and VPC design experience for AWS environments
Familiarity with ERP integration patterns, including JDE and Oracle FBDI export format
Ability to translate procurement workflows into technical architecture
Experience leading agentic AI / GenAI builds, not just chatbots
Successful completion of a background check
Ability to work in a hybrid model and travel to local or out-of-state client sites as required
