About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise the business on operational effectiveness and staffing of practice personnel on client projects
- Manage utilization, chargeability, forecasting, schedules, projections, variance, and other staffing metrics
- Develop and maintain relationships with business leaders to maximize deployment opportunities
- Analyze large amounts of data using reporting platforms and tools
- Provide staffing insights and recommendations to practice and operations leadership
- Negotiate and resolve staffing and availability conflicts within the national Talent Management team and organization
- Lead staffing calls and present reporting, analysis, trends, forecasts, and improvement opportunities
- Escalate staffing issues to solution or regional leaders as needed
- Partner with engagement teams to ensure schedule accuracy
- Optimize business practices and processes with operations teams
- Understand strategic client accounts, engagement scopes, roles, and contractual documents
- Present resources and maintain tracking for resource requests across clients
- Conduct skills searches and present candidates for open or upcoming resource requests
- Collaborate across capabilities and geographies to fulfill client demands and adjust staffing plans
- Meet with employees to understand skills, career goals, preferences, and availability
- Propose project assignments aligned with employee skills, professional goals, staffing preferences, and business needs
- Contribute insight to performance management discussions with practice leadership and Human Resources
- Engage with employees during critical career events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as business, human resources, or communications
- 5+ years in a related field, preferably with a professional services firm
- Previous business consulting, business operations, human resources, or recruiting experience highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with executives and small or large audiences, virtually and in person
- Ability to have difficult conversations and resolve conflicts
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel at intermediate to advanced level, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, and If/Then statements
- Fluency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency and/or interest in data visualization programs such as Power BI
- Willingness to embrace emerging technologies, including Microsoft Copilot and Cowork
- Professionalism, confidence, and enthusiasm
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel across Protiviti offices up to 15%
- Successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment
