Gain experience across different industries and grow technical, professional, and leadership capabilities
Participate in Liftoff with Protiviti, an award-winning onboarding live-virtual experience with embedded gamification
Attend The Intern Challenge, an experiential learning course designed to build confidence and connections
Work across various industries and engage in internal initiatives
Receive hands-on training and interact with leaders across the technology consulting practice
Complete project experiences assigned by Talent Managers to support career growth, skills development, and business needs
Participate in committees, employee network groups, and social, civic, and networking activities
Work in one of six capability areas: Business Platform Transformation; Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI; Microsoft; Security and Privacy; Technology Risk and Resilience; or Technology Strategy and Architecture
Work in person at local Protiviti offices and on client sites, with potential local or out-of-state travel based on project and client needs
Complete work in the designated location during business hours for the entire internship

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, including Computer Science, Data Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Internet of Things, Applied Math, Machine Learning, Quantum, or other technology majors
Authorization to work in the United States for Protiviti without sponsorship now or in the future
Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of internship
Experience solving problems using AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Copilot or GenAI
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Ability to apply critical thinking and innovation to client engagements across various industries
Technical proficiency aligned to the assigned capability area
Experience working effectively in teams and independently
Creativity and analytical ability
Ability to evaluate, synthesize, organize, and interpret data and information
Growth mindset and ability to contribute to meaningful outcomes
Willingness to seek feedback and guidance
Drive toward obtaining professional technical certifications and a strong academic background
Understanding of major Business Intelligence reporting tools, such as Power BI, BusinessObjects, Cognos, Microstrategy, Tableau, QlikView, or SSRS
Competency with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, TeraData, or other major database management systems
Entry-level proficiency with domain management strategies, network segmentation, firewalls, and middleware tools
Introductory knowledge of internal control frameworks or IT controls and IT/business technology risks
Familiarity with technology project risks and mitigation strategies
Programming skills such as Python, Java, or JavaScript preferred
Knowledge of security topics including authentication, entitlements, identity management, data protection, data leakage prevention, validation checking, encryption, hashing, least privilege, software attack methods, and data storage
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Workday and system implementation concepts
Ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Foundational understanding of cybersecurity, resilience, and risk management frameworks and industry regulation
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern customer technology environments
Strong analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel, PowerBI, or similar tools
Ability to synthesize research, develop clear documentation, and communicate findings effectively in team settings
Experience working with data for AI or automation use cases, including data cleaning and model support
Ability to apply AI tools to enhance work efficiency, stream analysis, and improve project delivery
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the internship
Successful completion of a background check is required as a condition of employment
