About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Spend two to four weeks doing the operator’s job at the start of an engagement
Reach working fluency in unfamiliar domains such as insurance underwriting, healthcare revenue cycle, and asset flow
Redesign business functions from first principles with operators and Forward Deployed Executives
Ship production GenAI systems, LLM applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and structured-extraction pipelines, and supporting services
Build evaluation harnesses, define success metrics, instrument systems, and use evaluations to drive design
Write production code across backend services, data pipelines, and AI layers
Deploy containerized, observable, and maintainable systems on AWS or other cloud platforms as required
Feed field learnings back into Provectus blueprints
Work with Forward Deployed Executives against Business Unit KPIs
Drive adoption and incorporate change management into engineering work
Collaborate with customer engineers, operators, and executives
Shape commitments and scope before delivery begins

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years building software, with a substantial share writing accountable production code
Willingness to spend two to four weeks doing the operator’s job before coding
Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains quickly
Shipped GenAI/LLM systems to production
Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system
Strong engineering fundamentals and productivity in unfamiliar codebases or languages
Python and/or TypeScript proficiency
Cloud-native AWS delivery experience, including containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, CI/CD, and operations
Ability to engage credibly with senior business and technical stakeholders
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership
Solid AI/ML foundations and understanding of model failure modes
Strong hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork
Fluent English, written and spoken
