About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications and test plans
  • Act as a link between operational and technical teams to support system development and improvements
  • Collaborate with registration, records, finance, and clinical teams across multiple sites to identify and resolve issues
  • Monitor and report on registration data quality, trends, and performance indicators
  • Update system requirements and processes to align with Ministry, provincial, and healthcare standards
  • Provide subject matter expertise on registration systems, policies, regulations, and process improvements
  • Develop audit tools and reports to improve the accuracy, quality, and security of patient information
  • Analyze data and stakeholder feedback to identify gaps and recommend process improvements
  • Provide end-user support, troubleshoot registration and scheduling issues, and coordinate technical assistance
  • Develop test plans, support system testing and implementation, and evaluate system performance after changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management/Technology, Science (Finance, Mathematics, etc.) or Business Administration, minimum of three (3) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of policy and standards for client identity management and client registration data collection
  • Working knowledge of information security and confidentiality guidelines and policies, including the Freedom of Information and Protection and Privacy Act
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques, principles and practices
  • Understanding of systems analysis and design, related tools and techniques, and continuous quality improvement
  • Knowledge of hospital operations and health care administration requirements
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including strong business writing and ability to communicate technical information to varied audiences
  • Ability to analyze operational problems and identify innovative solutions
  • Ability to work effectively with people from various disciplines and levels of functional and technical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage effective relationships with vendors and external organizations
  • Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse user community
  • Ability to coordinate and lead work groups
  • Ability to manage own work activities efficiently
  • Ability to effectively utilize related hardware and software
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office for Business
  • Testing may be required
  • A criminal record check may be required
