About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform coding audits and review outpatient provider services
- Support coding optimization and compliance for the medical group
- Work side by side with outpatient providers
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support with the code entry process
- Support documentation, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCC coding in alignment with current medical group reimbursement requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders upon hire, or certification from American Health Information Management Association upon hire
- 3 years recent outpatient medical coding experience
- Experience working with physicians, with an emphasis on coaching and communication
- EMR experience, preferably Epic
- Experience coaching and training physicians
- Proven history of proactively identifying, resolving and escalating issues that impact business and documentation outcomes
- Track record in organizing and planning, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and achieve results in a fast-paced environment
