About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver required patient charts to the appropriate person or department
  • Retrieve medical records from physician offices
  • File charts accurately in their appropriate locations
  • Scan paperwork into the correct EHR location
  • Scan loose papers into electronic medical records
  • Import electronic records
  • Answer telephones
  • Address requests for information
  • Perform clerical support functions as needed
  • Support smooth operation of the Medical Records Department under the direction of the Manager of Medical Records/Scanning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1 year of medical record related experience
  • Must comply with all state laws and requirements for driving when driving is necessary for the role
  • Must provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request
  • Registered Health Information Technician certification from the American Health Information Management Association upon hire (preferred)
  • HIPAA certification upon hire (preferred)
  • 1 year of clerical experience within a healthcare environment (preferred)
  • Medical records experience within the healthcare industry, including document scanning (preferred)
  • Experience with EMR, Allscripts/Touchworks, Meditech, and/or Advanced Web / IDX (preferred)
