About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage regional injury prevention, injury reduction, and health-promotion programs
  • Provide project management for new and existing programs
  • Decrease caregiver harm through engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls
  • Collaborate with IP&E managers, senior analysts, supervisors, coordinators, Caregiver Health, Workers' Compensation and Return to Work, and local leadership
  • Provide inter- and intra-facility ergonomics, safe patient handling, and injury-reduction services and training
  • Support compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory bodies, including OSHA and The Joint Commission
  • Promote integration of services within a culture of safety, wellness, and injury prevention
  • Perform basic data analysis to identify injury trends and prioritize risk-reduction areas
  • Develop risk-reduction strategies and work with leaders to implement interventions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certification in ergonomics or safe patient handling within 2 years of hire
  • 3 years of work experience related to ergonomics, injury prevention and safety, or a healthcare setting
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Preferred ergonomic-related training, such as CPE, CEAS, CIE, CAE, CHSEP, Human Factors Engineering, or SPHM
  • Preferred project-management-related training, such as Lean or Continuous Improvement
  • Preferred physical therapist license (LPT)
  • Preferred occupational therapist license (OT)
  • Preferred Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred 2 years of project management experience
  • Preferred 1 year of caregiver injury prevention or workers' compensation experience
  • Preferred 1 year of acute healthcare experience
