About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead internal technology operations and a small team, reporting to the CISO
- Own the IT function end to end, including budgeting, vendors, hiring, internal platforms, and assigned security and compliance controls
- Lead the help desk for a distributed workforce across Washington, USA, Ahmedabad, India, and remote workers worldwide
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Purview, and Defender
- Manage identity and access administration, including onboarding, offboarding, access changes, group and role design, and privileged access controls
- Manage endpoint procurement, build standards, configuration, patching, recovery, and disposal
- Manage vendors, contracts, licensing, and assets, including renewals and third-party risk reviews
- Maintain business continuity for internal systems through backup, restore testing, and documented recovery expectations
- Lead security operations, including vulnerability monitoring and remediation, logging, and incident response
- Lead upgrades, improvement initiatives, and documentation
- Own security and compliance controls supporting ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, and GDPR
- Govern access, permissions, acceptable use, and internally built AI tooling
- Support and govern an internal platform for help desk, IT, and user-built applications
- Enable end users to securely build and operate applications and deploy them to teams
- Help determine the future direction of the internal platform
- Facilitate responsible adoption of AI, AI-based tools, and employee-created applications and systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must reside in Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington
- Progressive responsible IT experience
- Experience managing small teams, vendors, projects, and technical teams
- Experience supporting corporate IT infrastructure and business applications
- Experience leading system implementations, migrations, upgrades, and operational improvements
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with ISO, SOC, and GDPR required
- Experience implementing generative AI or automation solutions
- Experience running technology operations and a small team in an environment with real compliance obligations
- Fluency with at least one formal control framework
- Identity-centered thinking: least privilege, scoped access, and risk minimization
- Hands-on familiarity with modern AI tooling and active interest in its development
- Microsoft 365 administration: Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Purview, and Defender
- Experience with infrastructure as code, version control, and repeatable deployment
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field is highly desired
