About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage sales for Specialty Electrical Wire and Cable products across the Southeast region
- Manage customer forecasts, contracts, inventory, sales representatives, direct accounts, channel partners, agents, and distributor partners
- Drive sustained sales and profit growth within the Business Unit
- Assign sales targets, report sales results, conduct joint sales calls, and train key sales partners
- Develop new customers and nurture existing customers to maximize service levels and growth opportunities
- Provide product management with information on new product and market opportunities
- Submit weekly reports on customer activity, market analysis, and competitor information
- Resolve customer complaints and coordinate customer issues with sales administration, product management, manufacturing, engineering, and credit teams
- Analyze customer and prospect activity to meet sales and profitability plans
- Develop and deliver oral and written presentations to customers and prospects
- Communicate market intelligence, pricing, product, industry, customer needs, and concerns to management and customers
- Coordinate and attend trade shows and annual regional sales meetings
- Train and assist customers, consultants, and sales partners
- Promote product training and plant tours
- Assist product managers with pricing, product introductions, inventory decisions, and product-group forecasting
- Meet or exceed established goals and personal objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional, poised, aggressive, self-starter, quick learner, persuasive
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building ability
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations and public speaking
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills
- Technical knowledge of the electrical industry
- Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment and remain emotionally stable
- PC literacy, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to sell and meet assigned sales profitability goals
- BA in a related field with 5–7 years of experience in technical sales to the electrical industry (preferred)
- Electrical contractor background considered (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, reasoning, mathematical, and computer skills
- Ability to travel approximately 60%
