About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Accurately and efficiently complete basic cash receipt and payment services in the lobby and/or drive-up window
  • Receive checks and cash for deposits, verify amounts and endorsements, and examine currency for authenticity
  • Determine funds availability and place holds as required by regulations
  • Enter deposits and loan payments into computer records and issue customer receipts
  • Perform line-of-credit advances and verify availability of funds
  • Cash checks and process withdrawals after verifying signatures, endorsements, and balances
  • Process mailed loan payments and deposits
  • Record and process night depository contents under dual control
  • Issue cashier’s checks, process cash advances, and redeem U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Buy and sell vault currency while maintaining drawer cash limits
  • Balance ATMs weekly
  • Answer basic customer inquiries while complying with disclosure and privacy requirements
  • Process customer service requests including address changes, ACH disputes, debit card disputes, stop payments, wire transfers, and check reorders
  • Count and package coin and currency
  • Promote and explain Bank products and services, including loans, IRAs, certificates of deposit, cards, digital banking, and cash management
  • Manage safe deposit vault access and inspect the area after customer visits
  • Promote Bank programs and electronic statements
  • Verify and update customer information
  • Perform branch capture duties and balance branch work
  • Balance teller cash drawer and report discrepancies
  • Stock teller and drive-in areas and report equipment malfunctions
  • Perform authorized teller system overrides and balancing duties
  • Balance the vault and maintain required cash limits when assigned
  • Verify and record vault deposits when assigned
  • Perform monthly teller management assessments when assigned
  • Print and process in-house check orders when assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Cash handling or sales experience preferred
  • Good organizational skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and maintains a positive attitude
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to balance cash drawer
  • Sense of urgency in responding to customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong customer service values and ability to identify critical tasks and follow through
  • Ability to learn, retain, and follow complex legal, regulatory, and security requirements
  • Ability to learn, retain, and communicate the basic benefits of a wide variety of Bank products and services
  • Ability to recognize and identify customers through observations and questions and refer customers to experts
  • Ability to utilize office equipment, including a computer terminal
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work weekends
  • May be required to travel to other branches
