About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and support PSD Citywide Enterprise applications
Design and develop backend services and front-end applications
Work with software developers and support staff to take product ideas from concept to release
Write and maintain robust, efficient, and readable code
Design and implement user interfaces and experiences
Document code and provide methodology for future reference
Use AI-powered development tools to accelerate software design, coding, debugging, testing, and refactoring
Apply AI-native development practices throughout the software development lifecycle
Test and implement experimental technologies
Test and review code in a timely and professional manner
Develop and modify technology systems addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operational, and monitoring needs
Participate in software development life cycle phases across projects
Manage data integrity and quality assurance activities
Complete self-directed assignments to implement features and resolve software defects
Assist with user manuals and guidelines
Recommend and perform software improvements and upgrades
Work with Business Analysts on requirements analysis and integrated web application design and development
Participate in daily scrum and weekly team sprints
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Post Secondary education in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related degree/diploma
3-10 years experience fullstack development
Expertise in development technologies depending on work projects
Experience with web development technologies and frameworks including JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Angular.JS, Symphony, CSS (Sass), Node.js, Git, Linux, PostgreSQL
Strong SQL skills; ability to create and modify complex stored procedures and functions
Experience building and scaling user-focused web applications
Experience designing and developing scalable and secured web services that integrate with other technologies
Previous experience working with legacy applications
Experience with source code repositories such as Git
Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot
Strong understanding of prompt engineering, AI agent workflows, and human-AI collaboration
Ability to work in an Agile project delivery environment
Strong ability to collaborate and problem solve
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good verbal and written communication and knowledge transfer skills
