About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Represent PTC’s products to medical professionals specializing in neurological diseases and/or Fabry disease
  • Generate sales and communicate product clinical and economic benefits
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, treatment centers, facilities, advocacy groups, and key thought leaders
  • Educate healthcare staff and identify commercial and scientific growth opportunities
  • Achieve assigned sales targets compliantly and contribute to the metabolism business unit
  • Implement marketing strategies for neurology and/or Fabry disease products
  • Collaborate with Patient Services, Patient Engagement, Marketing, Managed Markets, and Medical Affairs
  • Identify key treatment centers and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize patient care
  • Use a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach
  • Address and resolve product access and reimbursement issues
  • Support adherence to regulatory requirements and company SOPs
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degrees in life sciences, business, or healthcare preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales experience
  • Minimum 3 years of rare disease, orphan drug, or highly specialized sales experience
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing a territory
  • Selling experience in specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic centers
  • Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop strategic business plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including nights and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Personal automobile with active vehicle insurance policy
  • Ability to travel daily to and from customer accounts and drive long distances
  • Ability to meet facility vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks, and proof of immunization
  • Experience supporting orphan, rare disease, and/or specialized drugs preferred
  • Experience in a small, fast-growing entrepreneurial sales environment preferred
  • Start-up environment and new product launch experience preferred
