About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and resolve queries
Maintain accurate records in Xero and keep the chart of accounts tidy
Assist with year-end audit preparation
Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, variance commentary, and KPI tracking
Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets trackers for revenue, costs, and cash
Flag trends, anomalies, and risks to the finance team
Process supplier invoices in Xero
Prepare payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
Raise sales invoices and support credit control and overdue-payment chasing
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and expense claims
Respond to internal finance queries
Document and improve finance processes and SOPs
Support ad hoc projects as the finance function grows
Consistently improve processes and use AI tools to improve output

Requirements

What you’ll need

2–4 years’ experience in a finance role covering management accounts, AP/AR, and reporting
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups
Fluent written and spoken English
Confidence communicating clearly with a UK-based team
Accurate, organised, and able to manage own workload to deadlines
Comfortable working UK hours and fully remotely
Hands-on experience with Xero desired
Experience working with a UK-based business or international finance team desired
Exposure to media, digital, or creative industries desired
Familiarity with Looker Studio, Power BI, or AI tools for finance workflows desired
AI-forward individual experienced with tools like Claude desired
