About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with strategic customers and account leads to understand rollout processes and integration needs
  • Build secure integrations, data syncs, and AI workflows connecting Pulley to customer systems
  • Map Permit Ops workflows and identify opportunities for automation
  • Build internal agents, tools, and automations to reduce manual research and administrative work
  • Drive adoption and trust in shipped solutions
  • Build evaluations and monitoring for reliable AI workflows
  • Turn one-off fixes into reusable tools and playbooks for customers and Permit Ops PMs
  • Share learnings with Product and Engineering to improve the platform
  • Challenge requests that do not solve the underlying problem

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ops engineering, applied AI, or a similar hands-on building role
  • CS or adjacent technical degree
  • Track record of shipping AI-powered tools, agents, or automations that are still running in production
  • Fluency with AI coding and agent tooling like Claude Code or Cursor as a daily practice
  • Solid engineering fundamentals, including APIs, data, reliable and secure systems, and debugging
  • Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to work in person 4 days a week
  • Experience in construction tech, govtech, proptech, or a similar domain with messy real-world documents and processes (nice to have)
  • Experience building internal tools or ops tooling such as Retool, n8n, Zapier, MCP connectors, or custom (nice to have)
  • Experience designing evals or making LLM-powered workflows reliable in production (nice to have)
  • Early-stage startup or founder experience (nice to have)
  • Interest in helping build and eventually lead a team (nice to have)
