About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and grow a portfolio of national accounts across multi-channel markets, focusing on mass market retailers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key account relationships
- Manage customer relationships from day-to-day servicing and order support through long-range account planning
- Prepare and analyze sales metrics and account performance data to identify growth opportunities and white space
- Build account relationships and execute sales strategies to drive profitable growth
- Lead strategic planning for each key account, including annual sales objectives and financial targets
- Assess, clarify, and validate customer needs while monitoring assortment and category strategy changes
- Communicate customer requirements to art, product development, purchasing, and customer service teams
- Prepare and deliver account reviews, forecasts, and sales presentations
- Travel to customer headquarters, trade shows, and industry events as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree, preferably in business administration
- 5+ years of office-based experience with a demonstrated track record selling consumer product goods
- Proven experience interfacing directly with customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with custom product development a plus
- Solid knowledge of key account management and consumer product goods sales cycles
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate sales data and metrics into actionable account strategy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and shifting priorities
- Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills across diverse internal and external teams
- Sharp problem-solving instincts and comfort operating in a fast-paced, changing environment
