About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the end-to-end development process for renovation and upgrade projects in hospitality, including initiation, planning, design, permitting, and execution
  • Perform due diligence during project initiation and collaborate with internal stakeholders for corporate approvals
  • Create and manage RFPs for design teams and contractors
  • Oversee project scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Lead and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and project teams
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and present regular financial reports to senior management
  • Track schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans to meet deadlines
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve quality issues
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external project communications
  • Oversee procurement, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and national park regulations, including health and safety standards
  • Report to the Senior Director, Development Projects and work closely with the VP Operations
  • Collaborate with the project coordinator on template updates and reporting
  • Conduct online meetings with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Perform frequent site visits to Jasper, Banff, and Golden

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing design and construction projects from inception to completion
  • Familiarity with end-to-end development project processes
  • Experience with budget and schedule management
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Smart Sheet, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites in Banff, Jasper, and Golden
  • Eligible to work in Canada
