About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the product vision for payroll and integrations
- Set and communicate the product roadmap and align the company behind it
- Drive payroll initiatives across Canadian and US jurisdictions from discovery through launch and adoption
- Own the integrations portfolio end to end, including build, maintenance, refactoring, and sunset decisions
- Set API and platform direction
- Regularly speak with customers to understand payroll workflows, time-saving opportunities, and future needs
- Define and use metrics for payroll accuracy and integration health
- Collaborate with design, engineering, QA, support, sales, and customer success
- Build go-to-market plans and ensure launches achieve customer adoption
- Learn the payroll product end to end and identify opportunities
- Publish a Canada/US payroll and integrations roadmap
- Ship meaningful product improvements and measure their impact
- Document an integrations portfolio strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years in product management, with several years owning a product area end to end
- Hands-on payroll experience in Canada or the United States
- Experience building, running, or owning payroll products or payroll operations in at least one of Canada or the United States
- Understanding of remittance deadlines, year-end processing, and tax compliance
- Experience in B2B SaaS with real operational complexity
- Experience with implementation, data migration, or third-party systems
- Comfort working directly with data
- Fluency with APIs and integrations at a product level
- Ability to hold design conversations with engineers and make sound tradeoffs
- Clear, persuasive writing
- Track record of shipping products that customers adopted
- Nice to have: payroll experience across both Canada and the United States
- Nice to have: experience in another highly regulated domain such as benefits, tax, fintech, or healthcare
- Nice to have: platform, API, or partner ecosystem product work
- Nice to have: POS or HRIS integration experience
- Nice to have: hospitality, restaurant, or multi-unit franchise customer experience
