About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute exploratory, functional, regression, API, and mobile testing
  • Test across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers, and network conditions
  • Identify high-risk areas and prioritize testing based on user and business impact
  • Validate critical user journeys and verify fixes before releases
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for mobile applications, APIs, and platform services
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows
  • Investigate flaky tests and maintain reusable test data and testing infrastructure
  • Identify, document, communicate, and verify defects with reproduction steps and evidence
  • Partner with engineers to investigate issues, identify root causes, and prevent recurring defects
  • Participate in release planning and readiness reviews
  • Define and communicate release risks, unresolved defects, testing gaps, and release criteria
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define acceptance criteria and improve testability
  • Collaborate with Support and Trust & Safety on customer-reported issue patterns
  • Contribute to accessibility, performance, security, and reliability testing
  • Establish QA processes and best practices as the engineering organization grows
  • Report directly to the Head of Engineering as an individual contributor
  • Work closely with Mobile, Web, Backend, Product, Support, and Trust & Safety teams
  • Establish regression coverage, integrate stable automated checks into development and release processes, and measure quality improvements
  • Learn the product, architecture, release process, and critical user journeys during the first 90 days
  • Automate priority regression scenarios, improve test reliability, and establish defect reporting practices
  • Integrate release-quality checks into CI/CD and recommend future QA automation and process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing
  • Strong experience with both exploratory testing and automated testing
  • Experience testing mobile applications and APIs
  • Programming experience sufficient to design, write, debug, and maintain automated tests
  • Working knowledge of Git, code review, and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience developing software and automated tests both with and without AI-assisted coding tools
  • Ability to effectively use generative AI and coding assistants while maintaining ownership of the resulting code
  • Strong understanding of how to review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code
  • Ability to identify potential security, reliability, and maintainability issues in AI-assisted development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Protect proprietary code, credentials, customer information, and other sensitive data when using AI tools
  • Experience testing social, creator, media, or consumer applications (nice to have)
  • Experience with real-time features such as messaging, notifications, feeds, or live interactions (nice to have)
  • Experience testing monetization, subscriptions, payments, or creator payouts (nice to have)
  • Experience with mobile automation frameworks (nice to have)
  • Experience with API testing and service-level automation (nice to have)
  • Experience working with cloud-based applications and distributed systems (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with accessibility and performance testing (nice to have)
  • Experience establishing QA processes within a growing engineering organization (nice to have)
