About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, and improve Python features and services for a custom AI intelligence solution.
- Collaborate day to day with a senior engineer on architecture and technical direction.
- Ship small, well-tested changes regularly and make progress visible to the team and client.
- Participate in frequent syncs and proactively share status updates, risks, and blockers.
- Adapt quickly as client priorities change.
- Support LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) components as required.
- Work on a custom AI intelligence tool for a US-based client as part of Pyyne’s technology consultancy services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–5 years of experience in Python; 2+ years of professional experience with Python.
- Hands-on experience with async Python (asyncio) and building REST APIs (FastAPI or similar).
- Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (e.g., SQLAlchemy), including schema migrations.
- Experience writing automated tests (pytest).
- Comfortable with Git.
- Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks and ask for help when needed.
- Clear, proactive communication and a delivery mindset.
- Highly fluent English, written and spoken.
- Nice to have: experience with LLMs and RAG, pgvector or other vector databases, Docker, cloud deployment (AWS preferred), message queues/background workers (e.g., SQS), and Terraform.
- Candidates must work remotely from Brazil or in the Buenos Aires metro area in Argentina.
