About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as an initial contact for colleagues using the HR Support inbox
  • Respond to routine People queries and escalate complex or sensitive matters
  • Improve guidance, FAQs and People processes based on recurring issues
  • Provide accurate administration across the employee lifecycle
  • Prepare and coordinate contracts, contractual changes, salary and role changes, promotions, probation and family leave documentation
  • Maintain employee records, People systems and confidential electronic files
  • Support probation, absence, leave and other lifecycle processes
  • Provide employment references and standard documentation
  • Support payroll preparation and processing with the People team and external providers
  • Process payroll changes, check reports, investigate discrepancies and maintain audit trails
  • Respond to payroll queries and improve payroll processes and controls
  • Coordinate onboarding, induction and offboarding activities
  • Work with People, IT, Payroll and Workplace teams to coordinate joining and leaving processes
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to People Partners
  • Prepare documentation, timelines, meeting materials and background information
  • Support employee relations administration, including meetings, case files and notes
  • Conduct research for projects, policy development and benchmarking
  • Maintain People data, perform data checks and prepare reports
  • Support workforce planning and People initiatives through data gathering and analysis
  • Support London office activities with the Senior Office Manager
  • Coordinate communications, events and social activities with the UK Social Committee
  • Serve as fire warden and first aider in the London office
  • Support People projects, process improvement, documentation and global People initiatives
  • Develop HR knowledge through practical experience, coaching and potential CIPD-aligned apprenticeship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in an HR, People, People Operations or similar role; or a recently completed degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or another relevant discipline
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within the People profession
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and employee requests
  • Excellent attention to detail when working with employee information, payroll data and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Helpful and service-focused approach
  • Good judgement about resolving or escalating issues
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling employee information
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn HR systems quickly
  • Interest in data, technology and process improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Curiosity and willingness to research unfamiliar topics and develop knowledge
  • Flexibility to support different priorities across the People and Workplace team
  • Previous payroll, HR systems or employee lifecycle administration experience helpful but not essential
  • CIPD qualification is not required
  • Must not require visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom
