About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and drive the strategic development and delivery of regional and global events portfolios
- Plan and execute conferences, summits, exhibitions, awards, forums, and executive-level events end to end
- Implement innovative event formats, technologies, and engagement strategies to enhance attendee experience
- Build relationships with universities, sponsors, speakers, industry leaders, and strategic partners
- Support partner, sponsor, and stakeholder negotiations and relationship development
- Develop event strategies aligned with business objectives, organisational growth, and brand positioning
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Operations teams
- Manage event budgets, forecasting, financial performance, and return on investment
- Establish risk management, governance, and contingency planning frameworks
- Lead crisis management and issue resolution when required
- Analyse event performance data and stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement
- Standardise processes, best practices, and operational frameworks across the event portfolio
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
- Act as a subject matter expert and support capability development within the events function
- Perform other duties within the scope and responsibilities of the role
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline
- Significant experience managing large-scale conferences, exhibitions, summits, forums, or executive-level events, ideally in a regional or international environment
- Experience leading multiple complex projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail and stakeholder management
- Experience developing and executing event strategies that drive audience engagement, commercial outcomes, and measurable business impact
- Experience working with commercial and sales teams, including sponsorship conversations, client engagement, and bespoke partnership opportunities
- Experience managing resources, budgets, and onsite personnel
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and engage senior leaders, sponsors, speakers, and external partners
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and experience using event data and insights for decision-making and performance improvement
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior audiences and representing the organisation externally
- Highly organised, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ambiguity
- Creative and solutions-focused mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours when required
