About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process and verify payroll for QSL employees and those of its subsidiaries across five Canadian provinces
  • Complete payroll processing steps according to the schedule and in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and legislation
  • Update information related to new hires, terminations, employee movements, leaves, and benefits
  • Validate timesheets and follow up with managers on approvals and corrections
  • Administer source deductions, benefits, vacation, support payments, and retirement funds
  • Ensure compliance with policies regarding leaves, bonuses, overtime, and time banks
  • Complete the year-end process and generate the required reports, including T4s, RL-1 slips, summaries, and CNESST reports
  • Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years of payroll experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent spoken and written French and English
  • Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and thoroughness
  • College diploma in Accounting (an asset)
  • Diploma from the National Payroll Institute (an asset)
  • Experience interpreting collective agreements and working in a corporate environment (an asset)
  • French-English bilingualism required for interactions with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec
