About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build and deliver high-quality software solutions
Help shape the next generation of products that transform how organisations use data
Work on the Quantexa Platform, a Contextual Decision Intelligence offering
Develop backend microservices primarily written in Scala
Build scalable, distributed solutions handling large volumes of data
Contribute to design, development and delivery of innovative solutions
Work closely with experienced engineers across the business
Contribute throughout implementation, testing, deployment and support
Apply modern architectural patterns including event-driven architecture, event sourcing and CQRS
Process, analyse and visualise data to uncover hidden relationships and detect anomalous or suspicious activity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong commercial experience developing scalable backend applications using JVM languages such as Scala, Java or similar
Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, maintainability and performance
Experience working as part of a collaborative engineering team
Experience contributing throughout the software development lifecycle, from implementation and testing through to deployment and support
Interest in learning Scala and functional programming concepts, or experience applying similar principles in other modern backend languages
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and development
Legally authorized to work in the location of the role
Must answer whether employment visa sponsorship will be required
