About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with systems supporting the design, provisioning, installation, and configuration of hardware and software under the Shift Supervisor
- Provide instruction and perform complex administration of applications, Microsoft technologies, and server, storage, and backup systems
- Troubleshoot and configure Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft DNS and DHCP, enterprise patching, file services, and print services
- Document and track support activities in a ticket system, including time recording, issue identification, resolution steps, and follow-up communication
- Escalate issues to supervisors or appropriate technical teams and advise on next steps for break/fix tickets
- Install new and rebuild existing servers; configure hardware, peripherals, and services according to standards and project requirements
- Perform installations, integrations, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of software technologies from multiple vendors
- Partner with the Shift Supervisor and business management to ensure operational success
- Troubleshoot and configure moderately complex to complex servers and applications across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS compute
- Author, interpret, and maintain system documentation
- Lead and participate as a technical resource in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Follow Knowledge Base processes and procedures for Quest and clients
- Follow security protocols, including user authentication, data encryption, access controls, and incident reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years of experience troubleshooting IT performance problems and performing application releases
- 3 years of experience with operating systems, workstations, and servers
- 2 years of experience in patch management, domain management, and server application management
- Managed a domain environment with 50 servers or more
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a 24 X 7 NOC environment
- Experience with monitoring systems and troubleshooting concepts
- General experience with networking concepts
- Experience working in a 24x7 operations model
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to author, present, and explain technical information to diverse audiences
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions and recommend solutions
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment
- Motivated with a strong work ethic
- Must successfully complete company background check, including DMV, and pre-employment screening
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
- May be required to travel to customer and Quest locations
