About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and continuously enhance Quilter’s Operational Resilience Testing approach, framework and roadmap
  • Deliver a risk-based annual testing programme and rolling three-year exercise plan
  • Design, coordinate and deliver high-level resilience tests and exercises across Quilter
  • Prioritise testing using risk insights, threat intelligence, business change, emerging vulnerabilities and regulatory developments
  • Produce insights and metrics on testing coverage, outcomes, trends and maturity improvements
  • Ensure testing meets regulatory expectations with appropriate evidence, documentation and audit trails
  • Design, coordinate and facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations and live tests
  • Assess response, recovery and resilience capabilities through exercises
  • Drive business teams to increase the scope, frequency and quality of resilience testing
  • Act as central coordinator and maintain oversight of Operational Resilience testing
  • Identify testing gaps, emerging risks and future priorities
  • Produce and present management information for senior leadership and governance forums
  • Collaborate with Cyber, Threat Intelligence, Technology, Risk, Business Continuity and Operational Resilience teams
  • Conduct horizon scanning and develop realistic, challenging, regulatory-aligned test scenarios
  • Maintain testing methodologies, standards, procedures, templates and toolkits
  • Lead exercise debriefs, lessons-learned reviews and post-test reporting
  • Track findings, vulnerabilities, improvement actions and remediation through completion; escalate overdue or high-risk actions
  • Participate in the 24/7 Resilience and Crisis Team on-call rota
  • Support incident response, crisis management, resilience activities, specialist workstreams and strategic initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience leading, designing, coordinating and facilitating resilience testing and exercising programmes
  • Experience running large and complex exercises with senior stakeholder engagement
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, including confidence challenging senior stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating and leading operational resilience or crisis tests and exercises
  • Strong time management skills
  • Confidence in planning, scheduling and programme management
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Investigative mindset
  • Positive, self-motivated and dedicated to task delivery
  • Proactive approach to supporting others and sharing knowledge
  • Proven ability to create, review and update governance documentation, including standard operating procedures, frameworks and policies
  • Ability to turn exercise outcomes into analytical insights and practical improvements
  • Knowledge of Operational Resilience frameworks and regulatory expectations preferred
  • Financial services testing experience desirable but not required; experience from another sector is acceptable
  • Relevant qualifications preferred but not required, or relevant operational experience gained in a Corporate, Military, Law Enforcement or Government agency sphere
  • Participation in the 24/7 Resilience and Crisis Team on-call rota
