About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and drive cost structures and savings for global materials procurement
Forecast global market shifts, raw material fluctuations, currency risks, and macro-material trends
Deliver actionable commodity intelligence to procurement and leadership
Build and operationalize live tracking systems for raw material prices, currency movements, and supply risks
Construct and scale material-specific clean sheets for component-cost baselines
Provide costing foundations for Tier 1 negotiations and support Buy Plan margin reviews
Partner with material sourcing teams to secure transparent, competitive supplier pricing
Map Tier 2 and Tier 3 vendors and develop material and vendor strategies
Integrate upstream material availability into product design and development cycles
Design and execute RFPs for raw material vendors, yarn spinners, mills, tanneries, and textile mills
Own the bidding process from vendor outreach through award
Negotiate cost-reduction agreements with Tier 2 material suppliers
Align and implement material benefits into finished-goods costing with sourcing and vendor teams
Identify value-creation opportunities through supply-chain reshaping, verticalization, and volume consolidation
Report to the Head of Procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need

12-15 years of experience in raw material sourcing, commodity procurement, or upstream supply chain management
Deep knowledge of textile raw materials including yarns, fibers, fabrics, leather, and related commodities
Experience negotiating directly with mills, tanneries, yarn spinners, and raw material vendors
Familiarity with commodity hedging frameworks and global market indices
Proven ability to build and execute material-specific clean sheets
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; comfort with large data sets
Technical aptitude for leveraging AI-powered platforms, such as LLMs, for scenario analysis and automating complex procurement tasks
Experience in upstream supply chain network design or consolidation preferred
Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams
Bachelor’s degree required
MBA or advanced degree a plus
Successful completion of a background check
