About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and drive cost structures and savings for global materials procurement
  • Leverage commodity costing, clean sheets, manufacturing excellence and efficiency, harvest timing, and raw material availability to create competitive costing
  • Establish a monitoring framework for global market shifts, raw material fluctuations, currency risks, and macro-material trends
  • Build and operationalize live tracking for raw material prices, currency movements, and supply risks
  • Construct and scale material-specific clean sheets for baseline component costs and Tier 1 negotiations
  • Support Buy Plan margin review and company margin targets
  • Partner with material sourcing teams to ensure transparent, competitive pricing from key material suppliers
  • Map Tier 2 and Tier 3 vendors and develop material and vendor strategies
  • Integrate upstream material availability into product design and development cycles
  • Design and execute RFPs for raw material vendors, yarn spinners/mills, tanneries, and textile mills
  • Own the full bidding process from vendor outreach through award
  • Negotiate cost-reduction agreements with Tier 2 material suppliers and establish repeatable negotiation frameworks
  • Partner with Material Sourcing, Product Sourcing, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to implement material benefits into finished-goods costing
  • Identify supply-chain value creation opportunities, including verticalization and volume consolidation
  • Report to the Head of Procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12-15 years of experience in raw material sourcing, commodity procurement, or upstream supply chain management
  • Deep knowledge of textile raw materials including yarns, fibers, fabrics, leather, and related commodities
  • Experience negotiating directly with mills, tanneries, yarn spinners, and raw material vendors
  • Familiarity with commodity hedging frameworks and global market indices
  • Proven ability to build and execute material-specific clean sheets
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; comfort with large data sets
  • Technical aptitude for leveraging AI-powered platforms (e.g., LLMs) to conduct scenario analysis and automate complex procurement tasks
  • Experience in upstream supply chain network design or consolidation preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
