About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build out and run the daily functions of HR programming in conjunction with a PEO (Trinet).
  • Support 40+ employees across recruiting, onboarding, compliance, training and development, and employee relations.
  • Provide strategic internal team support using Trinet and other resources.
  • Develop and implement internal processes, documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise management on HR matters, including internal communication strategies.
  • Support and back up administration and operations as needed.
  • Administer benefits and leave, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
  • Manage Lever and support hiring managers with job coordination, screenings, and interviews.
  • Oversee full onboarding and offboarding processes in person and remotely using Trinet and IT systems.
  • Identify training needs, maintain compliance records, and suggest data-driven improvements.
  • Cultivate an inclusive culture of trust and open communication.
  • Manage disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Oversee performance reviews and coach managers on effective feedback.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and current knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Analyze PEO data and support payroll and administrative duties.
  • Lead benefits open enrollment and retirement planning rollout and updates.
  • Report to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must submit a cover letter, CV/resume, and three professional references, including at least two direct managers.
  • Candidates must be based in the United States.
  • Ability to work East Coast-based hours, 9:00am–5:30pm.
  • Demonstrable successful responsibility for HR or high-level administration, preferably at a comparable for-profit or non-profit organization.
  • Strong relevant job experience in employee relations for a minimum of 5 years required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a closely related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Trinet, Google Work Suite, and Lever is a strong plus.
  • Ability to prioritize organizational needs and anticipate requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and as a team player.
  • Track record of responsibility and accuracy.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
