About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Indian Affairs and Office of Information Technology programs and initiatives
- Provide business analysis and consulting support across requirements development, process improvement, IT modernization, IT Asset Management, and Change and Configuration Management
- Gather, analyze, validate, document, and maintain business, functional, technical, and system requirements
- Map current-, interim-, and future-state business processes and identify improvement, modernization, automation, and efficiency opportunities
- Develop user stories, story maps, use cases, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs
- Develop and maintain business glossaries, functional requirements, process models, system diagrams, wireframes, workflows, and other artifacts
- Create and maintain models using Microsoft Visio or comparable Government-authorized tools
- Manage boards, test plans, dashboards, requirements, and related artifacts using Azure DevOps or authorized tools
- Conduct research and analysis supporting process improvement, business process reengineering, IT modernization, shared services, and technology implementation
- Support testing, usability assessments, stakeholder interviews, requirements sessions, training, and knowledge transfer
- Translate stakeholder and customer needs into documented business and system requirements
- Track activities, risks, issues, milestones, action items, and deliverables
- Support reports, dashboards, process documentation, presentations, and analytical deliverables
- Collaborate with Government stakeholders, project managers, technical personnel, vendors, and contractors
- Support IT Asset Management analysis, documentation, service-request fulfillment, product reviews, authorization processes, and asset records
- Work with ITSM and ticketing systems, enterprise asset repositories and catalogs, Microsoft Intune, or comparable platforms
- Support Change and Configuration Management processes, plans, configuration status accounting, change and release workflows, CMDB maintenance, CCB activities, audits, corrective actions, and related documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing business analysis or consulting services to management and technical personnel supporting federal IT investments
- Experience assisting with IT project or program management activities in accordance with applicable federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Practical knowledge of Project Management Office (PMO) operations, capital planning, strategic planning, and IT investment management
- Knowledge of business process improvement and business process reengineering methodologies as applied to process modernization
- Knowledge of configuration management, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices, change management, IT Asset Management, and IT service-request fulfillment
- Experience with activity and data modeling, modern business methods, best-practice analysis, and performance measurement
- Experience or familiarity with IT Service Management/ticketing systems, enterprise asset repositories and catalogs, Microsoft Intune, or comparable enterprise platforms
- Experience working with automated and manual asset-management processes
- Ability to facilitate groups, conduct stakeholder interviews, provide training, and support knowledge-transfer activities
- Knowledge of FITARA, SDLC, FEA, CPIC, and FISMA
- Proven ability to support federal IT investment cost, schedule, performance, and compliance requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage assigned priorities and meet project schedule, quality, and performance requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain the Government security clearance and/or suitability determination required for the position
- Must meet all applicable federal contract requirements
- Preferred: experience supporting DOI and/or Indian Affairs
- Preferred: experience supporting federal IT asset, software license, property, change, configuration, or release-management activities
- Preferred: experience with ITSM ticketing systems, CMDBs, Microsoft Intune, or similar enterprise tools
- Preferred: experience using Microsoft Visio, Azure DevOps, or comparable Government-authorized tools
- Preferred: active Government security clearance
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work prolonged periods sitting and working at a computer and use standard office equipment
