About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Launch local financial products in target geographies
  • Spend significant time in person in each market launched
  • Own market launches end to end, from entry decision through operation without the launcher
  • Manage local regulatory and legal processes for licence expansion or transfer with the legal team
  • Define and execute operationalization strategies for local technology, teams, and systems
  • Identify and solve blockers to rapid market launch
  • Coordinate and drive a 100-day plan, including workstream owners, sequencing, reporting cadence, and escalation paths
  • Identify and hire key local roles, typically a country lead and first two or three hires
  • Ramp up and coach newly hired local team members
  • Detect missing licences, gaps, and remediations before they become problems
  • Own and improve the market expansion playbook
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Compliance, and Go To Market
  • Launches typically run 3 to 12 months and involve approximately twelve cross-functional capabilities and more than ten internal functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Roughly 6 to 10 years of experience in strategy consulting, private equity operations, or an operating role in a regulated fintech or payments business
  • Ability to independently write high-quality formal documents
  • Ability to represent Rain in high-stakes meetings with regulators, investors, partners, and customers
  • Business and technology acumen across pricing, technology, legal, and compliance workstreams
  • Experience driving complex projects to completion when task owners do not directly report to you
  • Ability to deliver high output quickly despite challenges
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to understand technical topics
  • Willingness to spend significant time in person in target markets
  • Based in New York or Madrid, or willing to relocate
  • Native or fluent English
  • 4-year university graduation is asked in the application form
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions is asked in the application form
  • Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, stablecoins, or blockchain is asked in the application form
  • Additional languages, particularly Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, or Arabic, are bonus attributes
