About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and recommend alternative approaches
Lead engineering efforts to meet ambitious targets
Design and implement reliable systems and applications in a fully distributed microservices architecture
Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners
Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for user-facing web and mobile applications
Create reusable code and libraries for future scalability
Enforce observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems
Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, workflows, and system configurations
Monitor systems to maximize performance and scalability
Work with international product and engineering teams across banking, payroll, and timekeeping domains

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of professional experience as an engineer
Strong ability to take ownership of projects and drive initiatives from concept to completion
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Familiarity with complex large-scale distributed systems
Proficiency in Go/Golang
Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs
Expertise in SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including data model design and optimization
Proven experience building reliable and scalable user-facing applications
Proficiency in message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink
Familiarity with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP, serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
Effective release management experience for zero-downtime deployments
Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI and GitHub Actions
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must answer application questions about Go, Kafka, SQL/Postgres, RESTful APIs, fintech/financial services, and AI tools
