About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the strategy and design of experiences for complex journeys involving customers, partners, consultants, franchisees, and internal users
  • Drive end-to-end design initiatives, from problem definition through implementation and continuous improvement
  • Plan and lead qualitative and quantitative research, interviews, usability testing, and behavioral analysis
  • Define information architectures, user flows, interaction models, wireframes, and prototypes for apps, intranets, web platforms, and internal and partner tools
  • Simplify business rules, regulatory requirements, integrations, and operational exceptions while ensuring clarity, security, accessibility, and experience continuity
  • Influence roadmaps, prioritization, and MVP decisions in collaboration with Product, Technology, Data, and business teams
  • Define and uphold experience principles, standards, heuristics, and quality criteria
  • Lead the evolution and governance of the Design System across multiple products, brands, and channels
  • Lead workshops, design critiques, and decision-making forums, supporting recommendations with research, data, metrics, and business rationale
  • Monitor implementation quality and post-launch results, directing improvement and experimentation cycles
  • Serve as a UX/UI technical reference, mentoring less experienced professionals and increasing digital experience maturity across the Rands ecosystem

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communications, Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong experience in UX, Product Design, Service Design, or Digital Experience involving web and/or mobile digital products
  • Experience leading end-to-end UX challenges, from discovery through prototyping, validation, and solution monitoring
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, journey mapping, and information architecture
  • Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools
  • Ability to use data, research, and evidence to inform design decisions
  • Experience working closely with Product, Technology, and business teams
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and build solutions with diverse stakeholders
  • Systems thinking, autonomy, and the ability to transform complex problems into simple, consistent experiences
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant projects, your role in decision-making, and outcomes or learnings
  • Preferred: experience with Design Systems, digital accessibility, and experience standards
  • Preferred: experience facilitating workshops and structured discovery processes
  • Preferred: knowledge of product metrics, funnels, analytics, and experimentation
  • Preferred: experience in financial services, consortia, banking, fintech, insurance, Open Finance, or regulated environments
  • Preferred: experience with B2B2C ecosystems, partner platforms, white-label products, or legacy system modernization
  • Preferred: familiarity with analytics, research, and digital behavior tools
  • Preferred: basic knowledge of front-end development and Storybook
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI applied to the design process
  • Preferred: intermediate English proficiency
  • Preferred: postgraduate degree in UX, Design, Product, Innovation, or a related field
