About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive revenue and advance the Company’s business interests in partnership with the Sales Director and Marketing Team
- Develop comprehensive sales plans and manage territory business plans to meet revenue goals and quotas
- Build targeted business plans and strategies for allocating resources and driving sales activities
- Assist in planning sales strategy and managing internal processes supporting Territory Managers
- Build, monitor, and orchestrate the sales pipeline; manage pipeline size, shape, and quality; analyze win rates and win/loss ratios
- Mentor and coach Territory Managers on sales processes, activity standards, work discipline, and consultative selling
- Manage and assist Territory Managers with sales tactics, buying signals, objections, and deal strategies for existing and new customers
- Conduct weekly deal reviews with each Territory Manager and track pipeline activity daily
- Engage appropriate resources at the right times
- Maintain knowledge of deal stages and next-step commitments within the assigned territory
- Assist with understanding client needs, qualifying opportunities, diagnosing issues, and resolving issues
- Hire, retain, onboard, and offboard sales talent
- Motivate and support sales teams in prospecting and selling new and install-base deals
- Assess, manage, and document employee performance and provide feedback
- Use and reinforce sales tools and metrics
- Develop tactical plans, recommend and implement best practices, assess progress, and align resources to reach sales goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three to Five (3-5) years' experience selling end of line packaging equipment through distribution, required
- Industry related sales management experience, required
- Work results that include success in achieving progressively high quota or other sales-related goals
- Demonstrated track record of customer acquisition and retention
- Proven ability to prospect, qualify, negotiate, manage, and close deals
- Leadership experience with a documented record of achievement
- Proven experience motivating self and others
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables across complex situations and interpret a variety of instructions
- Ability to analyze and interpret business information, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communications mediums and settings
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, keep commitments, and complete tasks on time
- Ability to facilitate open communication and relationships with staff, organizational colleagues, prospects, and customers
- Ability to prioritize critical work, eliminate roadblocks, and create focus
- Ability to consistently exceed goals and drive results
- Ability to identify, hire, and assemble talented sales teams
- Supervisory experience; position leads a team of 5-10 Territory Managers
- Occasional travel to customer sites may be required
