About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understand customer core problems, identify tradeoffs and propose solutions
- Communicate complex technical issues to audiences with varying technical knowledge
- Troubleshoot complicated systems with little-to-no context
- Debug code, read source code and research fixes
- Teach the team advanced principles, technologies and techniques
- Serve as a key escalation point for technical issues
- Create repeatable patterns using configuration management and documentation
- Remain actively involved with the team to ensure the success of multiple projects
- Deliver ServiceNow and Datadog implementations and integrations across customer environments
- Drive improved observability, availability and deployment velocity for customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience operating in one or more roles in a large-scale environment
- Wide exposure to cloud technologies including AWS, Azure and GCP
- Experience in multiple programming languages with deep understanding of at least one
- Consulting experience
- Leadership and/or mentorship experience
- Experience with multiple monitoring software tools
- Ability to work comfortably in a variety of operating systems
- Time management and context switching skills
- Experience in cloud platforms with deep knowledge of at least one
- Understanding of Kubernetes, service meshes, cloud networking and serverless/PaaS/SaaS technologies
- Understanding of infrastructure and configuration in a coded steady state (IaC)
- Datadog experience helpful
- Kubernetes experience helpful
- API design helpful
- Experience with auxiliary technologies such as IP address management and inventory helpful
- Expertise in a specific area such as relational or non-relational databases, caching, or distributed data systems helpful
- Experience using infrastructure configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet or SSM helpful
