About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bilateral loan transactions under the direction of the Senior Director CCG Finance
  • Prepare credit submissions and transaction presentations
  • Support relationship managers with marketing pitches to existing and potential clients
  • Engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, RBC Investments, Capital Markets, Commercial Financial Services, and Personal Banking
  • Work with Group Risk Management to align credit processes with client expectations
  • Provide market, industry, client, and competitor research, analysis, and data
  • Advise on the optimal amount of bank debt required to meet strategic objectives for client relationships
  • Participate in the national CCG Finance team of underwriters delivering credit products
  • Analyze and support advice on risk and return associated with contemplated loan transactions
  • Travel occasionally within Ontario and Southwestern Ontario to meet clients and support in-person engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance
  • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze company financial statements
  • Knowledge of credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring
  • Capability to work through Loan Agreements and other legal documents
  • Advanced skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to source data and conduct research
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail in written and financial work
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask across multiple projects
  • Well organized and able to set priorities
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA are nice-to-have
  • Work experience in corporate lending/corporate finance is nice-to-have
  • Training in credit and accounting with ability to manage complex concepts is nice-to-have
