About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as an escalation point and subject-matter expert for Employee Relations and HR teams
  • Provide employee relations advice to businesses, functions, and HR teams
  • Manage complex employee relations investigations
  • Uphold and develop or enhance related processes and procedures
  • Support initiatives involving tools, processes, and learning programs for employees and managers
  • Develop and maintain expertise in employee relations and applicable employment laws, rules, and regulations
  • Ensure employees understand RBC’s Blueprint and reinforce targeted behaviors
  • Leverage unit, department, and enterprise-wide teams to develop solutions
  • Execute change while supporting employees and maintaining focus on business priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of US employment law and regulatory requirements, typically achieved through progressive HR or legal experience
  • Minimum undergraduate degree
  • Postgraduate degree and/or professional licensing (J.D.) preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong listening, understanding and responding skills
  • Critical and strategic thinking ability and translation to action
