About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support clients’ year-end tax reporting requirements with Canadian tax authorities, including the CRA and Revenu Quebec
- Execute and maintain withholding tax remittances and reconciliations with the CRA and RQ
- Schedule, coordinate, track, and conduct user acceptance testing for regulatory and client experience enhancements related to registered tax slips
- Identify and escalate issues, risks, and exceptions
- Independently manage and resolve complex client inquiries
- Perform withholding tax reconciliations between internal reports and CRA remittances across daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual cycles
- Analyze reports, investigate exceptions, and resolve discrepancies
- Oversee complex exception-based processes, perform root cause analysis, and implement follow-up actions
- Liaise with internal and external partners to obtain information and resolve operational issues
- Maintain detailed reconciliation, exception, resolution, and follow-up records
- Identify process and system enhancements and participate in testing and implementation
- Maintain and update desk operating procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent OR High school diploma or equivalent AND 3+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience
- 1+ year prior securities, banking, technology industry and/or job specific related industry
- Proficient computer skills in Windows-based software products including Word, Excel and Access
- Experience with T4RIF/T4RSP/T4A/T4FHSA/TFSA/RL 1/RL 2/RL 32/NR4 tax production
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong problem identification, analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception-based complex processes
- Proficient in French (nice-to-have)
