About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop the strategic vision and architectural direction for enterprise infrastructure
- Represent Infrastructure Architecture at architecture governance reviews including ARB, EAB and IAR
- Meet business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements for infrastructure solutions
- Act as the primary infrastructure contact for enterprise applications, focusing on resiliency, Safety & Soundness, non-functional requirements, scalability and security
- Develop current-state and target-state artifacts, roadmaps, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines
- Present technical architecture to clients, governance forums, business partners, technology partners and senior management
- Provide direct support to development teams and the Lead Infrastructure Architect
- Perform Lead Infrastructure Architect duties when required
- Provide thought leadership on infrastructure architecture
- Advocate architecture principles and mentor others
- Produce infrastructure architecture artifacts, diagrams and blueprints and review them with Lead Architects and project stakeholders
- Review infrastructure architecture for portfolio compliance and fit
- Ensure projects and programs meet enterprise application and infrastructure standards and governance processes
- Facilitate architecture reviews, decision-making and problem-solving meetings
- Resolve technical issues and escalate as appropriate
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and collaboration with architects and operational support teams
- Define design guidelines and best practices
- Stay current on technology advancements and identify implementation benefits and risks
- Identify operational and architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Lead or oversee initiatives supporting system and application reliability and security
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7-10 years of enterprise industry experience defining infrastructure architecture, with a major focus on resiliency, nonfunctional and security
- Solid track record with Cloud (Azure, AWS and/or GCP), server hardware, operating systems, virtualization, server consolidation, storage technology, network technology, database systems, middleware technology, systems management, ITIL, collaboration technologies, software distribution, BCP/DRP strategies, and related technologies
- Solid experience with SOA, REST and MDM technology, including J2EE, .NET, mainframe, cloud, vendor products and multi-platform applications
- Demonstrated proficiency in a team environment involving integration of disparate technologies/platforms
- Ability to quickly evaluate options, make decisions and execute within an intense high-tech environment
- Awareness and familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks/processes
- Very strong oral, written, facilitation and presentation skills
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership abilities; comfortable managing issues in cross-functional teams
- Positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
- Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges
- Conflict and issue resolution and escalation
- Proven experience in software development or engineering roles
- Mastery of at least one programming language, such as Python, Golang, Java or JavaScript
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Architecture as Code (AaC) concepts
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Pulumi or similar IaC frameworks
- Experience working with Generative AI technologies and frameworks
- Familiarity with Prompt Engineering, Agentic AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI tooling such as MCP Server, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI APIs
- Nice to have: Cloud Architecture Certifications
- Nice to have: Knowledge of Oracle RAC and Postgres
- Nice to have: Knowledge of software-defined storage
- Nice to have: Familiarity or experience with high-performance computing
- Nice to have: Hands-on experience with Ubuntu or Debian
