About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide business and financial advice to high-value small business clients
  • Manage a portfolio of small business clients as they start, manage, and grow their enterprises
  • Represent RBC as an ambassador to the local business market
  • Develop new business through external marketing and client acquisition
  • Deepen client relationships through tailored, value-added financial advice
  • Proactively contact clients, conduct discovery, understand needs and changing circumstances, and monitor satisfaction
  • Plan and prioritize client and market activities
  • Identify opportunities and introduce clients to RBC partners for business and personal financial needs
  • Manage risk, conduct due diligence, and develop action plans for concerns and risks
  • Promote RBC mobile and online applications and digital engagement
  • Visit clients on-site to understand their business objectives and operations, as permitted

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Business development, client acquisition, and prospecting skills
  • Building and leveraging valuable Centres of Influence within the local business community
  • Proven track record in exceptional client relationship management
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Credit skills and knowledge, including understanding of risk assessments, financial analyses, credit structuring/solutions, and deal presentations
  • Completion of the Associate Account Manager training program, or previous experience as a small business owner or in a similar field
  • Good knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products and services
  • Ability to be mobile across the Kawartha region, extending from City of Kawartha Lakes to Northumberland
