About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide business and financial advice and manage a portfolio of high value small business clients
  • Acquire, grow and deepen client relationships through tailored financial advice
  • Proactively contact clients, conduct client discovery, understand needs and changing circumstances, and monitor satisfaction with RBC
  • Plan and prioritize client and market activities
  • Identify opportunities and make introductions to RBC partners to fulfill clients’ business and personal financial needs
  • Manage risk and exercise due diligence in banking procedures
  • Develop appropriate action plans in response to concerns and risks
  • Champion digital enablement and advocate for RBC mobile and online applications
  • Visit clients on-site to understand their business objectives and operations, as permitted
  • Partner with RBC advisors and specialists to deliver a valued client experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant banking experience, preferably in a sales focused role.
  • Business development and client acquisition and prospecting skills, including building and leveraging valuable Centres of Influence within the local business community
  • Proven track record in exceptional client relationship management
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Credit skills and knowledge, including an understanding of risk assessments, financial analyses, credit structuring/solutions, and deal presentations
  • Completion of the Commercial Banking Advisor training program, or previous experience as a small business owner, or in similar field
  • Good knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products and services
  • Mobility to travel within the Greater St. John’s market
  • Ability to visit clients on-site, as permitted
