About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Scope questions with stakeholders, pull and model data from the platform, and deliver clear findings and recommendations.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the platform’s data model, data, and capabilities.
  • Answer consumer questions about available data, its meaning, and how to use it.
  • Define, validate, and maintain key metrics and keep them consistent across the platform.
  • Document data sources, schemas, metric definitions, and query patterns.
  • Build reusable queries, dashboards, and how-to guides to enable self-service.
  • Profile data sources, flag anomalies, and partner with data engineering to resolve issues at the source.
  • Translate consumer needs into feedback for the platform team and help onboard teams onto new data.
  • Use AI tools to analyze, draft SQL, summarize findings, and produce documentation; share effective practices with the team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role delivering analysis that shaped real decisions.
  • Strong SQL; ability to independently query, join, and model data in a cloud warehouse.
  • Comfort with a scripting language such as Python is a plus.
  • Hands-on understanding of modern cloud data architectures, data pipelines, and schemas.
  • Ability to trace data from source to consumption, identify data issues, and partner effectively on technical solutions.
  • Technical writing skills, including data dictionaries, metric definitions, runbooks, and how-to guides.
  • Ability to validate numbers, explain assumptions, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Active use of AI tools and willingness to stay current as tooling evolves.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • US-based; role open to US-based candidates.
  • Familiarity with property, leasing, or real estate data is desired but not required.
  • Experience standing up or maintaining a data catalog, data dictionary, or metrics layer is a plus.
  • Experience supporting internal consumers of a shared data platform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with dbt, version control, or documentation-as-code workflows is a plus.
